CHOOSING MY JOURNEY

Let me tell you my story about why I choose not to work in an office full-time. After I graduated in a 4-year course, I worked in a Lending company for one year. Then I decided to stop working even when some of my Dad’s friends wanted me to hire in their company. The reason is I want to focus on my spiritual goals. I want to spend more time preaching rather than anything else.

But time goes by; I realized that I need to work to support my spiritual goals. I need to work so I can keep my travel journey. After I think of that, some of my friends recommend me for online work like online teacher or ESL. I applied to ESL companies like Enggo, Acadsoc, 51Talk, and Native camp, but I always failed every interview. After months, I will register again then history repeats itself. I failed again. Then again, I asked my other friend, “What work should I try on again online?” She said, “Try to look in Upwork and online jobs; maybe you can find work there.” Then I look for it, and I register in Upwork and online jobs, but I can’t find a job that will fit me. I’m not happy with what I’m doing. Until one day, I saw the profile of Ms. Keren Cajes-Ame, and I asked one of my friends if she knew Ms. Keren then; she said, “Yes, she’s teaching freelancing.” And she pushed me to enroll, but I don’t have the guts; I don’t know why. Maybe I’m afraid to fail again if I try it. So after that trial, I choose to put up a business like franchising Ice Cream and build a Milktea shop. For almost two months, my business is growing so fast. I earned so much for one week. And then pandemic comes; I closed my shop for three months — no one delivering ice cream and no one buying milk tea because of lockdown. After months, I opened again where the protocols are not that strict. But, my milk tea shop is not earning like before. The saddest part is I closed my Milk tea shop, and I continue my franchise in ice cream. But my ice cream is not earning like what I made before the pandemic. This pandemic changed me, just like how it changed the world. I have my daily routine, preparing myself before going out for preaching, talking to my staff before I go. I’m always out for ministry, but in just one time, everything changed. I am losing focus on the more essential things. I’m not happy in the situation, I am losing my spiritual growth, and my anxieties are growing every day. And I think that I can’t reach my goal anymore. But, I don’t give up. Someone came over in my life — someone who pursues me to get my dreams. I briefly tell my whole story from the very beginning of my journey. I told him I applied so many times as an online teacher, then I tried to study in a freelancing course, but it led me to fear. And he asks me, “What do you want to do? What is your forte?” I told him, “I want to work from home; I want to be a Virtual Assistant.” Then, “What are you afraid of? Why don’t you pray first before you decide?” After those conversations with him, I prayed. Time goes by; we have so many plans in our lives, Our wedding plans, and our future together as husband and wife. And then one day, something entered my mind, our wedding plans. I don’t want my future husband to shoulder all the expenses at our wedding. I don’t want to ask for money for what I want. And I remember what my Mom told me before that I should earn money to pay my orders in an online shop. Yes, I’m a shopaholic. I also remember our plans for our future, and I want to help him reach our goals together.

“Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life.”

These words from Wayne Dyer perfectly describe my thoughts on working. I know that doing what I love will make me happy. Doing what I want gives me a high level of calm, happiness, and satisfaction. I wanted to become a virtual administrative assistant; that’s why I’m pursuing this niche in freelancing, but sometimes I don’t know where to start. I’ve been unemployed for four years. But in that four years, I enjoyed my life preaching the good news to others. I enjoyed spending my time reaching my spiritual goals. And then, I just realized that Jehovah answered my prayer. Maybe that is his answer to do what makes me happy and what is my forte. After that, I told him that I’m ready to enroll in Freelancing Course, and I choose to register under Coach Keren. Then here I am.

THE START OF MY FREELANCE JOURNEY

May 21, 2021. I checked the profile of Filipino Virtual Assistance Coaching by Keren Ame, and then I decided to pay my tuition in a freelancing course. After a week, I’m officially registered as a Coach Keren student. June 2 is our live coaching. The coach explains what we will do for week one. I learned so many things that week, and I’m happy about what I’m doing. Then, I told him that I’m glad because I’m learning so many things. Then he said, “You’re happy because It’s your forte.” From time to time, I’m enjoying what I’m doing. I’m gaining so many things on this journey. Filipino Virtual Assistance Academy helps me to mold my chosen niche. Coach Keren helps me determine what I wanted to be and my passion: Virtual Administrative Assistant.

This course helps me improve my creative skills, which helps me know what I want to do. I also established my own identity and created my brand. I can say now that I can offer my services. Creating a content plan and optimizing social media accounts helps me develop my chosen niche skill. And also, this course helps me to be familiar with Upwork and Online jobs Ph. It helps me what to write in my profile, so the client will find me attractive. I’m enjoying what I’m doing right now. And I’m excited to work with my clients in the future. Being a Virtual Administrative Assistant is not that easy, but I’m sure that I will enjoy this.

This academy is a blessing from Jehovah. The academy helps me learn new things, focus on what I want, and know what I can. Everything I learned from this course was worth it. This course was very detailed and intensive, squeezing out my fullest potential. And it helps me to remember the saying that; “There’s always room for improvement.”

Do what makes you happy.

It’s all about our future what I’m thinking of in doing all my portfolio. And it’s also one of the reasons why I’m happy doing this. I’m enjoying what I’m doing right now because I love it. I almost quit, but I remember them saying, “Winners never quit, and Quitters never win.” So I am continually thanking him and this academy because they inspired me to reach my goal and be a Virtual Administrative Assistant soon.

He always says that “You’re happy because it’s your forte, so go for it.” These words help me not to quit in the journey of freelancing. I’m enjoying this journey because I love what I’m doing.

Reach your goals! Let the academy help you to reach what you want.

Filipino Virtual Assistance will help you to build your own identity. Just don’t give up. Do what makes you happy, and maybe it’s your forte too.

Remember this verse in Bible saying;
